KeyMeld

Universal key synchronization for iOS and Android

One universal key for products on iOS and Android.

iOS and Android create different protected keys and formats. KeyMeld creates its own universal key and controls which authorized client may receive it within the project and account.

The problem KeyMeld solves

Different platform keys should not split one product.

iOS and Android create their own key types and formats. KeyMeld does not read or need to know those protected values. It creates an independent universal project key and controls which authorized client may receive it, so teams do not have to build separate key logic for every platform.

Who needs it

For products that run on more than one platform.

KeyMeld is built for mobile SaaS, product and platform teams that need one consistent way to issue a universal key to iOS and Android clients while keeping platform keys protected.

iOS and Android products

Keep each platform key in protected client storage while both clients use one authorized KeyMeld universal key.

Platform and backend teams

Control which account and project clients can receive the universal key without turning the working backend into a key vault.

A concrete cross-platform example

One account. Two protected platform keys. One universal key.

An iPhone and an Android device can use the same account while their apps create different keys. Here is the practical problem KeyMeld solves.

01 iPhone / iOS

Apple Keychain

The iPhone app creates and stores its platform key in Apple Keychain. Its key and format belong to iOS, stay with the protected client and are not sent to the working backend.

02 Android

Android Keystore

The Android app creates and stores its own platform key in Android Keystore. Its key and format belong to Android, stay with the protected client and are not sent to the working backend.

03 Working backend

Not a key vault

The product backend could store both values, but then it becomes a central compromise point. It should receive and store no key values.

04 KeyMeld

Independent synchronization layer

KeyMeld is a separate protected layer where its own universal project key is created and synchronized for authorized clients. KeyMeld does not read platform keys; the apps store the universal key securely on the device and work with one common key.

What changes for the product

The account stays one, platform keys remain known only to the protected clients, and the working backend never becomes a key store or a central compromise point.

Why KeyMeld

One controlled product flow, even when platforms use different keys.

01

One universal key

Create KeyMeld's own universal project key for authorized clients running across iOS and Android.

02

Synchronize platforms

Synchronize permission and delivery for both platforms without reading or duplicating their protected key values.

03

Keep control

Release only the access the project allows and revoke it when the trust decision changes.

How it works

Create and authorize one universal key in three steps.

KeyMeld does not convert or read platform keys. It creates its own universal key, links its availability to the account and project, and provides it only to authorized clients.

STEP 01

Create the universal key

KeyMeld creates its own project key independently of the iOS and Android key values.

STEP 02

Authorize account and project clients

Track which account and project clients are allowed to receive the universal key.

STEP 03

Use one product flow

Authorized iOS and Android clients store and use the common key in protected device storage; the working backend receives no key values.

Questions

What teams usually want to know.

Why was KeyMeld created?

iOS and Android use different protected keys and formats, which makes one product flow difficult to keep compatible across both platforms. KeyMeld creates its own universal key and controls which authorized client may receive it within the account and project.

Does KeyMeld read iOS or Android protected keys?

No. KeyMeld does not read or need to know the protected platform key values. It creates its own universal key and tracks which authorized client may receive it within the account and project.

What does a real iPhone and Android scenario look like?

The iPhone app can keep its platform key in Apple Keychain, while the Android app keeps its own key in Android Keystore. They can use the same account even though the keys and formats are different. Storing both on the working backend would make it a central compromise point. KeyMeld creates its own universal key in a separate protected layer, tracks which account and project client may receive it, and does not read the platform keys.

Is KeyMeld an authentication service?

KeyMeld is the universal key and authorization layer for a product. Workspace sign-in uses MeldID, while KeyMeld creates its own universal key, controls its delivery and never needs to read platform key values.

Does KeyMeld put project keys in the browser?

No. The public KeyMeld website contains no key values. The universal key is available only to authorized clients through the protected product flow, and the working backend is not used as a key store.

Can access be revoked?

Yes. Teams can revoke project or trusted-device access when the identity, device or project should no longer be trusted.
